So it's been quite some time since our last post, mainly because I am not sure what can top the 11 foot 2 inch sturgeon from 2 weeks ago?! Other than the obvious answer- a bigger sturgeon, I've been stumped.
We've had the most amazing fall, beyond any fall that we've had before. Weather wise that is. The Salmon finally realized towards the end of September, that rain was NOT in any long term forecast and decide to start moving up the Fraser and into the Vedder and Harrison. There were so many anglers out enjoying the 20 plus degree celsius weather over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend it was incredibly busy!
Luckily there was fish in abundance and the Coho and Chum fishing, even without the rain has been great! Sturgeon fishing has picked up quite nicely, especially down towards Mission. The Harrison is still showing us some nice ones. The rain will help us there, it's the lowest of the low in terms of water levels right now. You could actually wade to the mouth of the river at this point in time from the hotel, that is how low the water is!
Two days ago the rain came back. Just like it never left.
It makes for MUCH better fishing, so for that I am thankful!
Here is a beauty Coho from Gary the Magnificent's return.
And a lovely fish from the Fraser this morning! I think these guys forgot their rain gear! There is arainfall warning in effect today! yikes.
