One of our guides' wives sent in this gorgeous photo collage, taken on the Fraser River last week:

It has got me thinking a lot about the weather and where we live. It is generally thought of as "small talk", and yet the weather is a very important subject to most anglers, and to all guides. Many of us on the West Coast like to complain about the weather during the fall, winter, and usually spring as well. Too much rain, too much snow, not enough snow, so on and so on. I admit that I don't always look at the damp and dreary months with the "liquid sunshine, not rain" mentality, but overall this year we have been pretty lucky with our winter weather.
I am constantly reminded of this by the amazing view from the office window, looking out across Harrison Lake towards Echo Island and the mountains beyond. Whether sheathed in clouds and fog, or glowing in the sun, I am very lucky to work in such a gorgeous place.
To top off all of the natural beauty, we get amazing fishing opportunities as well. Here are two more great fish caught this week:
This one was landed by an 84 year old angler! And trust me, the photo does not do this fish justice!!
This one taped out to 8'2", and is also his first ever sturgeon!
Another one that is just not done justice by the photo.
I think maybe our guides need photography lessons!
