April showers bring May flowers right?!? The weather was hit and miss, but the fishing has been solid this spring. Towards the end of the month, we have been starting to see the water rising, and debris is starting to make the guides earn their keep! We are expecting a more "normal" freshet this year, so hopefully we won't see the prolonged flooding that we had to battle through last spring. And summer.
We have had some stellar days on the Fraser this month, including the 8'9" fish from my last post! We've seen some very busy days, as well as some quieter ones, but all in all the sturgeon fishing has remained good, with some very scrappy fish being caught.
I have got a few more photos to share from yesterday's trips as well:
In addition to the sturgeon fishing, we have been taking advantage of great conditions to get up to some of the 'local' remote rivers for amazing trout fishing. Check out these beauties from last week:
A bit unpredictable by nature, the conditions on these smaller rivers can often make them difficult or pointless to fish. But when the stars align and things are good, it makes for unbelievable fishing in pristine conditions.
The weather forecast for this week is calling for sun, and steadily rising temperatures. Here's hoping that summer is on its way, along with even more fish!
