May recap and countdown to salmon

Good morning,
It seems like just the other day I was posting an April fishing recap, and now here we are in June! This spring is absolutely flying by!!

May has been a bit of a challenge in many ways for us. The amazing weather that started off the month also kick-started an early snow melt, raising water levels, as well as adding some (irritating) debris into the mix. The amazing weather that kick-started our spring became quite elusive for the last couple of weeks as well, with clouds and rain seeming to be the 'norm'. However, lucky for us and for our clients, our guides are all awesome and produced some great results for the anglers who ventured out on the water this month. A few photographic reminders for you:

The high water is already abating, and so far this week's weather forecast is looking much better, so am I planning for this month to be even better than May.

And do you all realize that it's already JUNE??? Seriously, this year is flying by far too fast. In only 43 days Salmon fishing will officially open on the Fraser River. And soon after that, Pink Salmon will start to arrive in droves. If you've never fished for pinks before, you should definitely give it a try! They are aggressive, hard-fighting fish, and so much fun on the fly! Pinks are amazing smoked or candied, plus, I love blogging about pinks, because I get to play with coloured fonts, in case you hadn't noticed.

Seriously, start tying flies and getting your lures ready now...it's going to be a great summer!!!
